Wiring A New Plug End
Use new wire connectors of adequate size for the four wires in each bundle. Then hold the wire with one hand while you squeeze the stripper to remove the insulation.

Put the wire underneath the brass screw on the side of the replacement plug so it wraps around the screw clockwise. The white wire goes on the silver terminal, the black wire on the brass one and the green wire on the green one. You don’t need to slit the insulation or remove any material or wire right now.

Loosen each terminal screw, hook the wire around it and put the screw down tightly. Wire a plug to maintain correct polarity. Some plugs will also require you to loosen 2 small screws at the base of the plug.
Turn each screw counterclockwise to loosen and remove them. This ensures that the plug and the box are now grounded. Very handy and easy to use.

Wiring a new plug isn’t difficult, but it’s important to get the hot and neutral wires connected to the proper prongs. Similarly, the earth wire is the longest to ensure it is the last to disconnect. One is brass, one is chrome and one is green. Insert each wire into the stripper to an approximate depth of 20mm.
Locate the wire that has smooth edges along the sides of the insulation, and bend the exposed end into a hook. Green wire to the green grounding screw, white (neutral) to the silver screw, and black (“hot”) to the brass screw. Simply insert the end of the tester into an outlet, lamp socket, or hold the end of the tester against the wire you wish to test.
While most appliances are supplied with a fitted plug, on older appliances, or where plugs are damaged, you may need to know how to wire a plug.
